Meet the ARES Team...

Chip Golde, Vice President of ARES Software Products and Global Sales Group

Chip’s responsibilities include business development and global sales for the PRISM suite of project management software products. He has over 35 years of home office and field experience in the engineering and construction industry including numerous international construction, mining, and power plant projects. Previous to joining ARES, Chip was ICF Kaiser Engineers’ Director of Project Controls and responsible for developing, implementing, and upgrading corporate project controls programs and activities for domestic and foreign projects.  He was also partner and operator of a general engineering construction company in the San Francisco area.  Chip holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University and General Engineering Contractor and Real Estate licenses in California.

Scott Armstrong, Project Management Consultant

Scott has over 26 years of experience in project management and mechanical engineering.  His expertise includes developing earned value management systems (EVMS) for major government projects; generating cost estimates for multi-billion dollar petrochemical projects; performing cost management activities and contributing to written and oral presentations on key proposals; and applying real-world experience to successful implementations of PRISM software products.  His mechanical engineering experience includes developing conceptual and detail design documents for facilities in nuclear processing, nuclear power generation, nuclear laboratories, manufacturing, pulp and paper, telecommunications, medical, food service, retail and high-rise office buildings. Scott has also served in ancillary functions such as CAD management, database development, system integration, resource management, and field engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Washington State University.

Michael Custodio, Senior System Analyst

Michael provides installation, training, troubleshooting, and support on all ARES commercial software products. He develops, implements, and manages project controls applications for clients. Prior to joining ARES, Michael developed numerous software systems including an in-house accounting and payroll system, cost scheduling and estimating systems, a utility customer call logging system, a human resources tracking system, a Web application to log daily tasks and issues, a data warehouse, and a payment system to automate payments and generate invoices. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a major in Computer Science from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.

Ettorino “Ett” Di Giovanni, Project Controls/Software Implementation Specialist

Ett manages numerous Canadian client operations providing project control services, software sales, support, and training.  He is responsible for project management systems development and project services including training client staff, software development, management and supervision, scheduling, cost control, economic analysis, project accounting, and client presentations. Ett has over 25 years of project management including 17 years in improving project and company operations and economic performance. He is a Certified Management Accountant and has completed all coursework for a Master in Building Science from Toronto’s Ryerson Polytechnical Institute.

Chris Donohue, Manager, Domestic Project Management and PRISM Client Development

Chris’ expertise is in writing project management plans and procedures; establishing work breakdown structures; developing project schedule and cost baselines, earned value management systems (EVMS), and management level presentations; establishing project governance documents; recruiting technical resource; and forming teams to execute a program. He builds effective teaming relationships with senior management, clients, and project team members to maintain strong communication links between project stakeholders and personnel.  Chris designs project management training programs and trains clients in project management practices, procedures, and tools. Prior to joining ARES, he was the Manager of Project Management Services in the ARES Los Alamos, NM, office and Project Controls Engineer for Kvaerner Metals. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from California State University, Chico.

Paul Frazier, Project Controls Engineer

Mr. Frazier has over 10 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry.  He is proficient using cost management and earned value management tools such as PRISM Project Manager and scheduling tools such as Primavera Project Planner and MS Project. His expertise includes reviewing and establishing earned value management systems, developing and implementing project baselines, setting up general projects, performing field engineering activities, developing estimating and project controls procedures, and managing construction projects. Paul has been an instructor for both the government and academic sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of New Mexico.

Everett Hartwell, Senior Development Manager

Everett is the lead architect of PRISM LEM Manager, PRISM Risk Manager, PRISM Executive and lead developer of the upcoming PRISM Project Manager .Net release.  Everett has over 15 years of engineering, project management, and project design experience.  He is a specialist with web programming technologies including Windows .NET, JavaScript, XML, SQL, and ASP.NET.  One of Everett’s key strengths is the ability to identify client needs and incorporate those into value-added business application solutions.  He emphasizes customer-driven solutions that are easy to understand, improve productivity, and improve clients’ bottom lines.  Everett holds multiple degrees from the University of California at Davis including a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration. He is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in California.

Nathan “Nat” Roe, Environmental Engineer

Nat has over 14 years of experience in risk management, nuclear facility operations, operations training, qualitative risk management training, risk-based analysis, alternative analysis, safety analysis, design, and project management.  His expertise includes developing risk management policies, processes, and plans and facilitating risk management implementation programs. He has implemented more than 20 risk management programs for government and private sector clients including Hanford Tank Farms, Hanford Spent Nuclear Fuel Project, NASA, Suncor Oil, and Shell Oil. Nat also leads government and private sector risk management training teams and workshops. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science/Civil Engineering from Washington State University.

Kevin Rowe, Canadian Operations Manager

Kevin manages the ARES office and operations in Calgary, AB, where he has successfully created high-performance project teams providing services and implementation support to oil, gas, and mining clients. He has over 30 years of project management experience including planning and scheduling, cost analysis, baseline planning analysis, and technical support.  Clients recognize Kevin for his ability to contribute to successful, cost-effective operations by the utilizing analytical and interpretive thinking; making decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; and encouraging others to work together to achieve organizational objectives. Kevin has a Certificate in Electrical Technology from the J.M. Perry Institute for Industrial Trade.

Erik Trutner, Manager, Software Development and Support Services

Erik provides managerial and oversight responsibilities for numerous software projects. His expertise includes computer programming, software system implementation, training, and consulting services for ARES software products and project controls systems. Erik has been the PRISM Project Manager software’s lead developer for the past 12 years, the lead developer for the PRISM Enterprise Suite of products, and has contributed to the PRISM Project Estimator software’s development. He has over 20 years of experience in project management software development using SQL Server, Foxpro, and Artemis databases with Visual Foxpro, Visual Basic, and Artemis computer languages. Erik is also experienced as a field cost engineer including establishing work breakdown structures (WBS), tracking and forecasting costs, and evaluating physical progress and performance.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Services from the University of California, San Diego.

Karl Vantine, Director, International Services

Karl has over 14 years of direct international business and project management and controls experience in project offices and at job sites on strategic projects for numerous multi-national clients in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.  His project skills include budgeting, cost and schedule engineering, contract management and procurement, client liaison, and management reporting. Karl’s broad work history includes project management and controls in consumer goods, software development, automotive manufacturing, mining and metals, oil and gas, and commercial power generation. He holds several degrees including a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in International Trade and Investment from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from The George Washington University. Karl is a Certified Project Management Professional and a Microsoft Project Certified User Specialist.
